Numerous work demonstrations and booth presentations highlight the company’s latest high-precision automation technology at SEMICON West 2021, December 7-9 in San Francisco.
Bosch Rexroth will showcase the company’s latest high-precision automation technology, designed to meet the extremely stringent requirements of semiconductor manufacturing systems, at booth 327, South Hall, at SEMICON West 2021, 7-9 December, in San Francisco, California.
Booth presentations and technology demonstrations will cover a full range of advanced i4.0 automation and transport technology at SEMICON West 2021. Rexroth’s innovative semiconductor technology can help tool builders and manufacturing operators to stay competitive in today’s rapidly changing semiconductor manufacturing market, with high precision automation technology for every segment of the microelectronics supply chain – from wafer processing to final device packaging .
Semiconductor and electronics manufacturers have very specific automation needs, such as mechatronic modules designed for smooth movement when handling wafers, contactless material transport through processing chambers, and nano-scale positioning precision.
In response to these demands, along with the urgent need to increase semiconductor production to meet unprecedented global demand, Bosch Rexroth will showcase i4.0 linear technology and automation solutions to help move from lab to factory faster than ever. Booth 327 will showcase leading Rexroth systems for semiconductor applications, including:
CtrlX AUTOMATION Demonstration: Visitors to the booth will have the opportunity to see a three-axis work system that showcases the ctrlX CORE and ctrlX DRIVE hardware platform, as well as the ctrlX WORKS engineering and software toolkit. The demo shows how ctrlX WORKS allows users to easily assign ctrlX AUTOMATION applications or their own applications to program everything from single axis functions to very complex multi-axis motions.
For semiconductor and microelectronics manufacturers, this exhibit provides a hands-on demonstration of how the complete ctrlX AUTOMATION platform supports an open, platform-neutral system architecture that can be easily integrated into any automation infrastructure.
Flexible Transport System Demonstration: Rexroth’s Flexible Transport System (FTS) is a magnetically powered pallet transport system designed to provide more precise pallet positioning and higher transport speeds. The FTS incorporates a non-contact external movement system. Coils mounted outside the chamber provide driving power for magnetic mounts that do not require feedthroughs to vacuum. Suitable for virtually any load factor, accuracy level and motion profile, it can support independent and synchronized pallet movements, for more flexible transport sequences, reduced cycle times and faster throughput.
ETools Presentation: This exhibit will highlight Rexoth’s intuitive and easy-to-use LinSelect engineering tools for dimensioning and selecting linear axes and multi-axis systems such as the Smart Function Kit for Handling system. Through videos as well as actual operating demonstrations of the LinSelect system, visitors to the booth will have the opportunity to witness the sizing of a multi-axis system in LinSelect and forward the output to Rexroth’s online configurator. for a 3D model. The exhibit will highlight how much time and effort is saved by selecting perfectly aligned linear components for many types of linear motion applications in semiconductor manufacturing systems.
Smart Function Kit for Handling Demonstration: The Smart Function Kit for Handling is a pre-assembled multi-axis mechatronic system with plug-and-produce technology, combining perfectly matched linear modules, connection elements, servomotors and controls of the Rexroth range.
The hardware demo for this exhibit is a multi-axis system that matches the setup output of the eTools kiosk that resides next to this demo. It provides a complete picture of the benefits of the plug-and-produce capabilities of the Smart Function Kit: pre-defined multi-axis combinations can be easily sized, configured and ordered under a single reference. In addition, the Smart Function Kit for Handling software application enables rapid commissioning thanks to the automatic parameterization of the actuator.
Precision Modules, Gen 2: The new generation of Rexroth precision modules are ready-to-install precision linear motion systems that combine high performance with compact dimensions. This latest generation of these popular modules features a two-sided sealed ball screw assembly and improved lubrication concept, to better meet the demanding operational requirements of semiconductor production and electronics manufacturing.
In addition to booth demonstrations and exhibits, Rexroth experts with experience in semiconductor and electronics manufacturing will be on hand to discuss the specific challenges faced by tool builders and end users and provide innovative ways. and practical that Bosch Rexroth’s i4.0 solutions can help meet their needs.
