State officials present check to DeKalb County Sheriff’s Office
DEKALB COUNTY, Alabama – Two Alabama elected officials visited the DeKalb County Sheriff’s Office on Friday to show their support for local law enforcement.
Senator Steve Livingston and Rep. Nathaniel Ledbetter presented Sheriff Nick Welden, Nathan Nail and Mike Stone with checks for “must-have tags that will be worn by first responders on their uniforms.”
These beacons allow pilots to differentiate between victims and first responders during night search and rescue operations.
Nathan Nail is the president of the DeKalb County Fire Brigade Association and Mike Stone is the President of the DeKalb County Rescue Team Association.
“It is a great feeling when our state level elected officials recognize the hard work and sacrifice of our first responders here in DeKalb County. We are fortunate to have the hardest working and dedicated stakeholders, ”Sheriff Welden said in a statement.
The sheriff thanked state officials for their support on a Facebook post on Saturday morning.
