Warzone data reveals Burst Rifles kill faster than Season 6 meta-weapons

Warzone YouTuber and statistician TrueGameData revealed that the AUG and CARV.2 Burst Rifles are still viable in Season 6, killing faster than some of the Assault Rifle and SMG meta.

When Modern Warfare was the main title in Call of Duty, Burst Rifles was never really part of the meta. The FR 5.56 never made much noise, and burst fire mods for assault rifles were not worth your time. However, that changed with the integration of Black Ops Cold War, with AUG and M16 being the only viable weapons for weeks.

Nerves have tamed these beasts, but Warzone’s stats expert TrueGameData has discovered that Burst Rifles are still extremely viable in the Season 6 meta.

Comparison M16, AUG and CARV.2 TTK

AUG and M16 were too extremely dominant weapons in April 2021, but TrueGameData believes gamers ditched guns after nerf. Looking at their Time to Kill (TTK), he argued that they can still compete with the meta.

The EM2 has arguably become Season 6’s assault rifle meta, and stats from TrueGameData show that when hitting a headshot, both AUG and M16 kill faster than EM2 at distances greater than 25 meters.

While the FR 5.56 technically has a better TTK, TGD believes the AUG is more consistent than it and the M16 due to its additional neck damage.

But with the Correspondence Note gun, the CARV has an extremely low TTK, and “kills faster than the 9 OTs”. This reduces its range, but it becomes a great choice as a mid-range weapon. The only things holding back its range are the high recoil and low bullet speed.

TrueGameData explained that “overall I think the CARV has the potential to be a very, very good weapon if you can just mix a headshot in there”, and said that “the AUG is also in a very good position now “.

  • Muzzle: Agency silencer
  • Barrel: 17 ″ Titanium
  • Optical: Axial arms 3x
  • Sub-barrel: Front handle of the field agent
  • Magazine: 45 rpm drum

If you plan to use the AUG at long range, this is the loading recommended by TrueGameData. The 17 ″ Titanium the gun increases the rate of fire, in turn lowering its TTK. And the rest of the attachments are aimed at making sure you can still shoot without damaging your ADS time too much.

CARV 2 tactical rifle in the cold war
  • Muzzle: Quiet
  • Barrel: 23.6 ″ Match level
  • Optical: Axial arms 3x
  • Sub-barrel: Front handle of the field agent
  • Magazine: 45 rpm drum

When using the CARV, you want them to build it as an “aggressive midrange gun” for Verdansk and Rebirth Island.

Interestingly, TrueGameData recommends sticking to the standard Quiet attachment because it only affects range, which doesn’t matter for Burst Rifles. Then the 23.6 ″ Match level gives this extremely fast TTK.

Burst Rifle weapons are still powerful choices in Call of Duty: Warzone, and these AUG and CARV.2 versions are well worth a try in Season 6.
